It appears likely that city police officers will help patrol next month's Republican National Convention in Tampa.
City Manager Greg Horwedel proposes making available about 20 officers, including six who will be on bikes and three on motorcycles. The Tampa Police Department will reimburse the city for its costs, such as wages.
The Plant City Police Department will adjust its schedules to ensure there are enough officers on duty here.
